How much is too much?
This murder will not be lost among the rest. It had a face and a life.
Can one more matter?
Once you have killed over 100 people you have never met on their little boats out in the ocean, what does it matter if you murder one more on land?
The one more is Renee Nichole Good, a 37 year old mother of three, a poet who loved singing .
This one certainly does matter because the offense is so well documented. You read enough, you can get to know her, and how Homeland Security and the White House lie about how she was murdered.
It’s easy to forget fuzzy pictures of little boats being blasted out of the water by the U.S. Navy. It all seems so abstract and distant.
Were they all drug dealers? We can’t know. And even if they were, I suggest the more legal thing would be to watch where they land, scoop them up, charge them and put them on trial.
Drug dealing is not a capital offense. That’s why we don’t just unleash sniper teams to kill suspicious people in the drug world. We have a process: arrest, charge, try, convict, punish.
I know that is messy and of course it’s much easier to just kill people at sea. But it is also immoral, no matter what they are carrying.
But killing Ms. Good is a different matter.
You can see exactly what happened. She is in her van with the window down. An ICE car pulls up and an agent gets out and rushes to her vehicle and tries to open the door.
She tries to drive away, and another agent who has already drawn his gun shoots through her windshield and fires two more shots as she passes him. Then the van crashes and people start screaming.
That video is going to follow ICE everywhere. It has already made its way to the Oval office.
The Trump people seem to be arguing this was a justified killing because the agent feared for his own life and the lives of his fellow agents.
But that falls apart when you watch the video. As for the investigation, the local investigators have been invited out by the Trump controlled FBI. Fat chance anything but the current version, a lie from beginning to end, will ever see light of day.
What the ICE people have been taught about the use of deadly force, no one but ICE can say. But I think most police procedures say don’t stand I front of the car and don’t shoot at a moving vehicle.
Someone, obviously, could get killed.
When will this stop? When will it be enough?
When will justice arrive to call the perps to account?
And who are the perps? Federal agents, U.S. Attorneys, The Justice Department, the attorney general? The pathological liar in the White House?
Stay tuned.
Unfortunately, there’s lots more to come.

I am old enough to vividly remember the Kent State shootings and the nationwide eruption that followed. Perhaps this murder will have an equivalent impact. In the event that it does not, there will be more to follow until people finally say "enough".
calling these boys ice agents is giving them a lot of latitude. Might be time to call a spade a spade. These are repurposed "proud boys" with a new patch on their arm. Untrained hired vigilantes. Running unlawful raids on blue states and "sanctuary cites"
